Activities We Offer
Forest School Camps and After School Clubs
We offer a wide range of activities within our Forest School.
One of the things we pride ourselves on is our offer of skills development as well as play. Our model is that we teach skills to children to empower them to use those skills in play of their choice.
Some examples of what we teach are:
- Woodwork
- Shelter building
- Foraging for natural resources
- Identifying surrounding plants and trees
- Art created from the natural materials we find
We have a strong focus on safety so we use tools safely with adult supervision. We stay within the area boundaries we create and ensure everything is age appropriate.
Children are then encouraged to use their imaginations to play how they choose and use their newly learned skills to build what they want to create. We have made shelters, picture frames, free standing structures, taken inspiration from books like Julia Donaldson's Stick Man and Superworm to make the characters, we've foraged leaves and berries that we've made paint from to create natural forest art pieces.
Our Forest schools take place in Coldfall Woods in the Easter and Summer holidays.
Our next Forest School will be:
Easter Forest School 2025
8th - 10th April
15th - 17th April

AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS
Our after school clubs are built on the foundations of what we've learned from years of running Forest School holiday camps.
We will run age appropriate activities that are made accessible in the time we have after school. Rather than building on these activities across a week, we will structure it to be built on across a term. The skills developed are the same and just as valuable learned in a more stretched out time frame.
Please visit our Schools and Education Programmes Page for more information about our offer to schools.
